Our life now can't function without mobile apps. However, they weren't always uncommon. Although there may have been specialized features or modes on cell phones, the modern concept of an app has recently been introduced along with smartphones and PDAs. Mobile apps have a rich history despite their recent existence.

A built-in version of the standard arcade game "Snake" was available on the Nokia 6110 in 1997. It is widely regarded as the pioneering mobile application. Games were also included with the initial iPod. Solitaire and Brick are these games.

A young Steve Jobs first had the idea for the App Store, or at least a basic version of it, back in 1983. The software might be purchased online or over the phone, according to Steve Jobs' vision. The iTunes store was introduced not long after Apple unveiled the iPod. The Apple App Store was influenced by it.   

After the iPhone's June 2007 launch, a critical and commercial success, native apps were created. The App Store was introduced more than a year later. Five hundred apps were available when the first App Store opened. Therefore, there is no "real" first app.   

Different app clients were introduced as new smartphone models were unveiled. More users may now use various apps on their phones thanks to Google Play, the Amazon App Store, and BlackBerry's App World. It's also important to note that each store launched with paid and free apps. It implies that both premium and "freemium" content have been significant.  

Another app worth noting is Angry Birds. The highly successful franchise's debut entry was made available in December 2009. Then, the app took off like a rocket.  

Between all of the series' installments, over three billion downloads had been recorded by 2015. This makes Angry Birds the all-time best-selling freemium app.   

The Angry Birds app inspired several spinoffs and merchandise. Angry Birds was widely advertised in movies, amusement parks, and soft beverages. Even if they are no longer as well-known as they once were, Angry Birds continue to rule the market. They even reached NASA!

The way people use apps changed in 2014. From entertaining games and social media, app use has evolved to encompass entire lifestyles. Additionally, Snapchat stated that 700 million photos were shared every day.   

As of right now, both smartphones and apps are still in high demand. Only a tiny percentage of individuals still don't regularly use apps despite how indispensable they have become to daily life. Families and friends can connect through apps even if they live far apart. Since apps aren't going away any time soon and are now so commonplace, it's hard to envision life without them.
