HTML ( HyperText Markup Language) is a standard markup language for documents to be displayed in a web browser. It is usually assisted by CSS and JavaScript for more beauty and design options.
The purpose of a web browser is to read HTML documents and display them correctly without the HTML tags.
Many beginners choose this language first but find it hard to understand.
Before going into learning HTML, there are some things you must understand.

The language is widely used together with a lot of resources and a large community behind it. It is open source, completely free and runs in all web browsers. The language is used for static web pages and like I mentioned before, you need JavaScript or a back end language like PHP for dynamic functions. In order to gain more knowledge about HTML there are so many courses to learn coding.

Examples are; - W3Schools - Codecademy - Coursera etc.  HTML coding might seem difficult at the beginning but it is not so hard to understand. A simple HTML tutorial with time, patience and hard work can give you a good start to learning the language. 

You don't have to always be online , you can write codes for your website while offline. When you start your website you will be open to a wide range of skills aside HTML.
